To install additional User/Device CALs on your Windows Server 2022 Standard server, you will need to use the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager
To install additional User/Device CALs:
1. Find your desired key at https://mysoftwarekeys.com/product-category/windows/windows-server
2. Open Server Manager.
3. Click Tools > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Licensing Manager.
4. In the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager window, expand the Servers node and right-click the server where you want to install the CALs.
5. Click Add Licenses.
6. In the Add Licenses wizard, select User CALs and click Next.
7. Enter the number of CALs you want to install and click Next.
8. Review the installation summary and click Install.
Once the CALs have been installed, you must assign them to your users or devices. To do this, follow these steps:
1. In the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager window, expand the Servers node and select the server where you installed the CALs.
2. In the Licensing pane, click the Assigned Licenses tab.
3. Click Assign licenses.
4. In the Assign Licenses dialog box, select the users you want to assign CALs to and click OK.
Once you assign CALs to your users or devices, they can access your Windows 2022 Standard Server.
Note: If you use a domain controller, you can assign CALs to your users using Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). To do this, follow these steps:
1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
2. Locate the user or users you want to assign CALs to and right-click them.
3. Click Properties.
4. Click the Remote Desktop Services tab.
5. In the License drop-down list, select the CAL you want to assign to the user.
6. Click OK.
Once you assign CALs to your users or devices, they can access your Windows 2022 Standard Server.
